It is perceived that one of the disincentives to private sector investment in power sector of Ghana is the issue of low levels of tariffs and the shift to cost-reflective tariff to support private sector investment is the focus.

One way of doing this is through direct power purchase agreements between Independent Power Producers (IPPs) and ECG. The question is: Is energy a private good? A public good or a marketable public good?

The Ghana Maritime Authority wishes to inform the seafaring community and the general public that Tullow Ghana Limited (TGL) proposes to locate and operate a Floating Production storage and Offloading Vessel(FPSO) offshore at the TEN Field Deep Water Port (DWP) in the Atlantic Ocean.
The Operator (TGL) is engaged in well drilling and installation of subsea infrastructure.The Installation and drilling work involves the use of heavy equipment that pose danger to mariners. Additional risk include the collisions and the danger posed by the use of open fires by mariners in close proximity to the oil and gas installation.
The Director-General of the authority is required by section 235 of the Ghana shipping Act, 2003 Act 645 to advise the seafaring community and the public of developing or existing situation which may adversely affect maritime safety.
By this notice, all mariners and vessel (including but not limited to the following: ships, canoe, rafts, and all kinds of watercraft however propelled are advised in the interest of safety to maintain a safe distance of five (5) nautical miles vectored from the centre position of the FPSO turret in:
