There are places that remind us that great interiors aren’t created by filling a room—they’re created by curating it.
A visit to Kettle’s Yard in Cambridge this week was a wonderful reminder that the most memorable spaces are those where every object has been chosen with intention. Light, texture, craftsmanship and quiet beauty all work together to create a home that feels both ageless and deeply personal.
Its the finishing touches are often what transform a scheme. A beautifully restored vintage lamp or a handcrafted lampshade isn’t simply another accessory; it brings warmth, character and a story that new, mass-produced pieces rarely can.
At Haslam West, we’re continually inspired by spaces where craftsmanship is celebrated and where lighting becomes part of the narrative of a room, not just a practical necessity.
The natural light and placement of furniture, objects and artwork at Kettles Yard were truly inspiring.
✨ What inspiring place have you visited recently that has influenced your design thinking?

When the heatwave hits, calm and cool interiors become a design choice.
Our hand-crafted Table Lamps and hand-stitched Lampshades, made in the UK, offer soft light and natural textures, helping cool a space visually.
These are products designed to breathe, balancing light whilst creating moments of stillness as well as style.
We hope everyone is finding refuge in this heat!

Intricately hand-painted with colourful floral detailing, this petite Kashmiri urn lamp is full of personality and charm.
Paired with a gathered linen lampshade, it’s a wonderfully versatile lamp that brings warmth, character, and a cheerful touch wherever it is placed.
We especially love how beautifully it sits here against the blue painted woodwork of the bookcase. Photograph by
