👉 ALWAYS fully unwind your hookup cable before use.

We were recently called out to a motorhome that had completely lost power and was showing a reverse polarity fault. The cause? The owner had been running their Alde heating on 3kW while the cable was still wound up.

This caused heat to build up in the cable, ultimately burning out the terminals inside the plug.

A simple step like fully unwinding your cable can prevent damage, costly repairs, and potential safety risks.

As it turns out, juggling this company AND a growing Motorhome Hire company has proven to be more of a challenge than we first thought! 🏋️‍♀️🥵

You may have noticed we've 'gone dark' on Social Media; we've even set ourselves to 'Temporarily Closed' on Google and put a banner on our website advising we can't take on new Customers right now ⛔

Despite these measures, our phone's still ringing 3-4 times a day with people wanting us to service their Caravan before the week is out! 🙈🤣

As we're now heavily tied up with supporting the Hire Company, we've only been able to take on servicing work 1-2 times a week meaning we're already booked out until late June! 📅

We don't do poor service or rush jobs, so sadly this position will likely remain unchanged at this time but we felt everyone deserved a bit of context rather than staying quiet and us just hiding our heads in the sand! 🫣

💪🙌 WE SURVIVED 2025! 🙌💪

The sudden passing of Mark in March, Wee James's business partner & (more importantly!) best friend of 25 years, could have been enough to see most small businesses collapse after losing someone so close 🥹

Thanks to amazing support from Wife (Stef) & Dad (Big James/Captain Hewooo!), Wee James found a way to ensure no Customer of either company experienced anything short of what GO Forth! always stood to represent and that's 100% Customer Satisfaction 🫶

Admittedly, after clearing our feet of existing jobs, GO Forth! Caravan Services took the regrettable but necessary step back from the limelight in order to support GO Forth! Motorhome Hire throughout their hire season 🧳

💧🤕 WHAT A PANE! 🤕💧

During a recent Habitation Check, The Tools discovered a split in a rear window seal which had been allowing some water ingress! 😬

Whilst we'd normally run a bead of sealant over the split as a temporary repair, Big James decided The Tools were gonna impress the owner of the motorhome with a proper reseal so they took the window completely out! 🙈

The motorhome actually belongs to our sister company GO Forth Motorhome Hire, so it was important the window was expertly repaired once and never be allowed to leak again! 🙅‍♂️

Thankfully our hire company commitments are starting to slow down a bit which means The Tools have a little time to squeeze in a few more services before their Winter break ⛄

🙃🙈 FAKEAWAY CABLE! 🙈🙃

The Breakaway Cable on your Caravan plays an important role in the event of you accidentally becoming unhitched! ⚠️

It's designed to pull your Caravan handbrake on just before snapping, detaching you from the Caravan and allowing you to pull over safely 🦺

If the cable does it's job properly, hopefully the Caravan has come to a safe and complete stop and can be recovered 🤞

Needless to say, The Tools were slightly baffled when they found a Breakaway Cable held on with cable ties! 😲

Thankfully, The Tools do carry a small stock of these cables so this Caravan was soon put right 💪 (By Big James, of course 😉)
