Fantastic afternoon providing our services to Wrexham Council for today’s event.

Cheshire Constabulary will be deploying Live Facial Recognition (LFR) technology in Chester city centre on Saturday 25 July as part of Operation Vigilant.

With increased visitor numbers expected for Chester Races, officers will be using LFR to help identify people wanted by police for serious offences and support efforts to prevent crime and protect vulnerable people.

A dispersal order will also be in place across Chester city centre from 10am on Friday 24 July until 10am on Sunday 26 July. The order gives officers the power to direct individuals to leave the area for up to 48 hours to help prevent disorder and anti-social behaviour. The area covered by the order is highlighted in the map.
