What happens when you put three Giants of Light into the middle of a city festival for three days? Well, Bjelovar gave the answer. At the Terezijana-festival, VEKTOR, BIMBI and SPIEGLY didn't wait for the audience to come to them, they went where the party was: Through the streets, beyond people, straight into the middle of everything. What happened next was: People stopped, took pictures and sometimes simply followed the Giant of Light because as we all know: many living beings are attracted by light. It takes five puppet-players to move a Giant of Light. Every step, every gesture, every turn of his head: man-operated, zero computer. Human action and interaction are essential to DUNDU. To make DUNDU come alive. A child reaching out to the Giant of Light. Someone smiling. People dancing with the Giant. That's the moments when „performance” turns into „interaction”.

Our giants reach up to eight metres. Really. Sounds impressive, but can you imagine what that means? For the team? For the audience? For the presentation? Because something that tall, in motion, can also look a bit clumsy. Well, ours don't. There’s a first time for everything, even after travelling the world for quite a while. This time: Malaysia. First time. Big love. The Giants of Light went to Georgetown with our great DUNDU-Bangkok team. And that actually is a really nice example of how we understand working internationally by breaking down borders: Having experienced people not only at home in Stuttgart, Germany, but not far from where the Giants are needed …

Some like it hot. Some like it cold. Luckily, the Giants of Light are not that picky. They have walked through snow in the mountains, performed quite kneedeep in sand and also a lot of weather happened in between. Nice for pictures and even nicer for event agencies, because outdoor events rarely come with perfect conditions – if there even exist perfect conditions.
