What is gravure printing and what is the process?

Gravure printing is a high-quality printing method that utilizes a printing cylinder with sunken engraving to transfer ink to the printing substrate. This printing technique is commonly used for printing magazines, catalogs, packaging materials, and decorative prints.

The process of gravure printing begins with the creation of the printing cylinder that contains recessed engraving. The cylinder is coated with ink, and the excess ink is wiped off with a blade known as a doctor blade. The remaining ink sits in the sunken grooves of the cylinder. The printing substrate, such as paper or plastic film, is passed under the cylinder while pressure is applied, causing the ink to transfer from the cylinder to the substrate.

Gravure printing provides great color consistency, sharp and detailed images, and high-quality printing on a variety of materials. It is a complex process that involves skilled professionals, precision machinery, and a commitment to high-quality production. Gravure printing is also known for its high-volume printing capabilities, making it a popular choice for large-scale printing projects.

1. How to start the machine, install the mold and place the film?
Answer: 1) Start the heat transfer machine:
First, we need to connect the heat transfer machine to the power supply and confirm that the power supply is in normal condition. Then, find the switch above the heat transfer machine and turn it on. Then, wait for a while until the heat transfer machine is fully started.
2) Install the mold:
Before officially installing the mold, you need to confirm whether the size of the mold matches the heat transfer machine to ensure that there will be no deviation in printing. Then, place the mold in a fixed position on the heat transfer machine and secure it with clips to prevent the mold from moving.
3) Place the film:
First, we need to remove the film from the packaging and be careful not to wrinkle or damage it. Then, place the film over the mold and spread it evenly from left to right, making sure the entire mold is covered.

2. How many products can be printed per hour?
Answer: For example, cups: 500pcs per hour; 20L buckets: 200pcs per hour

Answer: There is an air pressure valve and a stretch button.
5. Does the machine require an air compressor? How big of an air compressor is needed?
Answer: An air compressor is required. You can use the air compressor of the injection molding machine together, or you can purchase a small air compressor separately.
6. How to make molds and rubber rollers for products of different specifications?
Answer: They must all be made according to their respective sizes.
