Bad Tempered Chair by Ron Arad, 2002
The Bad Tempered Chair is a technically advanced evolution of the Well Tempered Chair. Instead of stainless‑steel sheets, Ron Arad employed punched laminate segments made from extremely durable carbon and Kevlar fibres, joined with visible wing nuts.
Of the intended edition of 1,000 Bad Tempered Chairs, fewer than 200 examples were produced. The two examples offered in this auction bear the serial numbers 16/1000 and 136/1000.
