An anniversary gift we had the pleasure of making in the shop for some dear friends ❤️
A small 12" × 8" × 1.75" cutting board crafted from quarter-sawn Patagonian rosewood, just look at those colors!
Hard on the knives… but definitely not hard on the eyes.
She made it very clear there are zero intentions of ever cutting on it — and honestly, we can’t blame her 😄
Some pieces are just meant to be admired.

Today we had to say goodbye to our lil buddy, Cola.

He was the king of the center console, he lived for truck rides, and loved his trips through the Tim Hortons drive-thru to get his Timbits. He’d sit right next to me waiting for a bite of lunch or supper — and the second my fork was put down, he’d slide over to see what Courtney had left.

We have so many memories like that. The house feels different and quieter.

Cola you left your paw prints on our hearts. 🐾💕

Odie's Oil

Beautiful wood makes for beautiful furniture.

Fresh out of the shop and made as an anniversary gift for my wife Courtney.
This piece is an ancient olivewood cookie — 32" in diameter, 4" thick. The only additions are a pair of olivewood bowties to stabilize the natural cracks.

The top is polished to 1200 grit and finished with a single coat of Super Duper from Odie's Oil for a beautiful sheen.

Pretty amazing what nature provides and a little time in the shop can bring out.
