A low coffee table made from a salvaged red gum log that had been dead standing for several years.
The tree has produced some beautifully figured timber, that shimmers as the angle of the light changes.
Hundreds of small, raised, prickly bumps in the surface of the timber have been retained along the partly live edges.
Salvaged, milled, dried, and made by us.

Red gum salvaged from close to Tocumwal, NSW, after the fires that went through the area about six months ago.
This timber was destined for firewood, but we were able to salvage some saw logs and turn them into 300 x 50mm beams, along with timber for a post and rail fence.
We used two cutting heads on the Lucas Mill to cut the extra-wide 300mm boards.

These slabs are now stacked and drying. Keen to put them to use on a few furniture projects in the coming months.

Cutting some cypress Macrocarpa feature posts from salvaged logs

We milled a mix of Bloodwood, Blackbutt and Red Ironbark on-site, turning them into 200 × 200 posts and 200 × 75 beams for a custom hardwood pergola. Shall share pics of the pergola once it's up.
